What About being drowned in the depths of the sea!

 Matthew 18:6-7
6 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. 7

Mark 10:14-16
When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” 16

This is the ministry to which the Lord has called us, Children are not to young to know the love of  God, they are as in much a need of Him as we are.

Please consider your part in being involved in our ministry in reaching the kids of Hawaii.

 Aloha,
Ricardo, Kristin, Timothy & Annikah

And Here Comes Another Week

Well, we have officially been at the CEF Headquarters in Warrenton, MO for almost 2 weeks now. The time has already gone by quickly! Settling in has gone well. I have been busy with class and finishing up seminary. The first week of Teaching Children Effectively was finally completed and all practicums were successfully completed, thanks to much prayer and support from Kristin and CMI staff and friends. This week begins the second module Understanding Today’s Child. God is at work as I continue to learn more about the ministry to kids.

The apartment they have us staying in during our 3 months here is just right for us! It is a 3 bedroom apartment with a kitchen, dining area, living room and one bathroom. It gives the kids their own room to sleep and not wake each other up at night and allows us to work around the room and not disturb them. The kitchen is just the right amount of space and we can eat right at the dining table. It’s been a blessing! For not knowing what it would be like, God definitely provided!

The kids are doing fine. I (Kristin) have been able to take them on stroller rides around the facility and see the “ducks” and as Timothy is learning, they are geese J Annikah sits back and enjoys her ride around! We’ve also been able to take them to the pool at night to escape from both the warm days and being inside. Timothy also has enjoyed playing on the playground and going on the swings. Although he has had fun, he already has asked about “home” so he knows this is something new. But he’s a trooper, as well as Annikah, who sits in the playpen and plays with her toys or speed crawls around the room when we let her!

The staff and the students have all been warm and friendly and we are able to get to know one another through meals or activities. It is a really great facility and you can see how God is using this organization for His honor and glory. Please pray for us and the weeks ahead and that all will go smoothly. Pray for Ricardo as he continues to take on both his CMI classes in addition to his last semester of seminary classes. Pray for Kristin and the kids as I do not get to see them as often as I would like and the times I do get to are sometimes brief due to the my current workload.  However, we do love being able to see each other during the day! Thanks again for your prayers! Blessings to you all!

Further Instructions

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ...  (Colossians 4:2-3)

Testimony

I was working on my testimony for seminary and the link below was in my course. It was powerful and it brought me to tears. Even being here at the Children's Ministries Institute (CMI)  for only a few days and talking with fellow students, it is amazing to hear the testimonies they have and the encouragement it provides. It reminds me that in our eyes we may not think we have a great talent or a great gift, but we do and in God's eyes we are a gift and our testimony can be a powerful tool to bringing the lost to Him both children and adult alike. So here's the link

Hope it is as encoraging to you as it was to me.

We are Here!!

It was a busy week last week getting everything packed, but it was fun. We left Tuesday morning from VA, passed through West Virgina, Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois before finally arriving in Missouri. Today begins my first day of class, so I am excited to begin, although I am bit tired from driving, packing and unpacking and just getting settled. But the Lord is good and I know He will give me the strength to endure and Kristin as well as she takes care of our precious little ones.

Please continue to pray for us as we settle, especially the kids and Kristin, who is exhausted. We will post more of our adventure as we go through these three months. The Lord bless you and keep you always in His loving care.

Aloha

Missionaries to Hawaii

The past week has been busy, meeting people, finishing up summer seminary classes and getting things ready for MO. Last week though, Kristin and I had the opportunity to meet some friends and our future co-workers in ministry for Hawaii, Matt and Stacey Walton. We were finally able to connect last Tuesday at Fairy Stone State Park in Stuart VA. We were only able to spend a couple hours together, but it was a great time.
