4/14 Window

According to the Barna Research Group  “nearly half of all Americans who accept Jesus Christ as their Savior do so before reaching the age of 13.”[1]

Also, “two out of three born-again Christians . . . made that commitment to Christ before their 18th birthday.”[2] If the Lord Jesus is not in a child’s life by the time they leave junior high school, there is only a 6 percent chance of them accepting Christ.[3]

God Can Use a 14 Year Old

Below is a letter I received from a child in Hawaii...hope it encourages you as it did me. The (Child's name is not mentioned due to privacy).

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Hosein,

I am 14 yrs old and I live in Hawaii.  Last year, I participated in CYIA and will be participating again this coming summer.  CYIA is one of the most meaningful things I have ever done in my entire life.  After all, learning the quadratic formula and how to graph an equation that takes the shape of a hyperbola (my current math) doesn’t always feel that important, but helping to save children from eternal damnation to hell is pretty significant if you ask me.

Over the summer last year, I became more and more aware of how important the training we received at training camp was.  It helped us to deal with everything from knock-down-drag-out fights to children who did not want to do anything.  Since last summer, as you know, Uncle John and Aunty Di (that’s what all the kids here call Mr. and Mrs. Dekle) have retired and you guys along with Matt and Stacey Walton have been hired to take the Dekle’s place in training the summer missionaries.

Last summer, I received a significant amount of funding from supporters.  During CYIA last summer, I began to wonder what I could do to help with funding your guy’s move out here.  I decided that I could donate a portion of my CYIA funds along with some money I had worked for over the summer.  I have sent a donation to the CEF Hawaii office to the amount of $311 to contribute to your fundraising efforts.

WOW!! What a blessing!! This is just a simple, yet powerful testimony of what your financial giving and prayerful support does. It allows hearts and lives to be impacted with the Gospel. Thus, lives are changed for the honour and glory of  our Lord & Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Prayer Request

Aloha,

Thank you all for your continued prayer for us. We also continue to remember you in prayer and are so very thank for each of you. I have 3 prayer request:

1.) Please prayer that our house will be sold and very soon
We are wanting to purchase a home in Hawaii within a few months of getting there, however, based of the mortgage guidelines we will not be able to do so until we have sold our house here.

2.) Please pray that our 2002 Ford Explorer will be sold.

3.) Finally please pray that all financial support will be raised very soon.

Thank you for your faithfulness in prayer.

The Power of 1 or is it 25??

Raising support has been one of the most difficult things I have ever had to do, yet it has been one of the most rewarding things, in that, I have drawn closer to the Lord, I have seen His faithfulness and I have learned to better accept His sovereignty in my life.

I have been asked the question several times this week by concerned Christian friends, " How are you doing really?"  And my answer is "I am fine." The reason being that, I recognized early in this journey that God is the one who is and will always be in control.

Psalm 55:22 says, "Give your burdens to the LORD, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.

The Lord continues to take care of my family and me each and every day, He has given me a peace that surpasses all understanding and He has taken my load of worry & fear. He has & continues to comfort me with His Word, and I know He will see us through what seems to be a never ending journey of support raising and into the ministry which He has called us too.

So what about the power of  25? Well,we just need 25 more financial supporters giving $100 per month to join Team Hawaii so that we can be at 100% support. Once our team is complete, we can turn our attention fully to the ministry. We serve a God who can part the Red Sea, cause the blind to see, cause the lame to walk and bring the dead back to life...thus, He is more than able to provide the 25 supporters we so desperately need to begin the ministry.

Oh, I almost forgot, I did not mention about the power of 1...well I guess you can figure that out!

Aloha

Aloha,

It has been a few weeks since my last post. It has been really busy and I do apologize for posting this late. For the past few weeks apart from family life, I have been busy trying to raise support, preparing lessons plans to teach Christians how to effectively evangelize children here in Virginia and Georgia and I have been working on more lessons plans to be able to teach the youth/college age  to evangelize children this summer in Hawaii.

I, along with another instructor, were able to train a group of seven individuals to begin Good News Club® , a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship® in which trained teachers meet with groups of children in schools and share the Gospel every week.

I was also able to go to Georgia for 2 weeks and assist in a course known as, Teaching Children Effectively (TCE™) Level 1. This course is designed to offer a fresh approach to evangelizing and teaching children. Based on spiritual and educational principles, the course provides the methods and procedures to lead children to Christ and immediately equips the believer to begin and sustain a ministry where he lives. This course also allowed me to obtain my Instructor of  Teachers (IOT) credential so that I can teach Christians in Hawaii.

We are planning to leave in May for Hawaii, however we are still in need of monthly support. If you would like to become part of our ministry team and support us financially or in prayer, please let me know. I hope to post our newsletter soon, but until then, may the Lord bless each of you and cause His face to shine upon you and give you peace.

Aloha,
Ricardo
