Yesterday, we spent time praying and fasting for the Lord to provide financially for us so that we could attend our three month training that begins on August 18^th 2011.  The Lord showed Himself faithful and before the day was done the Lord opened a window of opportunity for us as I received a phone call from an individual who is willing to give a one-time gift of $2000, if we can raise $2000 by the end of June, so that we can begin training. I believe we can raise this amount with your help.  Your financial gifts can be one-time, six- months, a year, or more. Whatever amount you give through the month of June will be doubled.

So, again, will you please prayerfully consider your part in becoming a financial partner with us because it will be a great opportunity for advancing the Gospel message. Few great accomplishments have been done by individuals alone. Great things come together when average people combine what they have with others. Ask God to show you how you can be part of the ministry financially to which He has called us.

Hawaii Update

Dear Friends and Family,

We hope this letter finds you doing well. This letter is just to give a brief update on our progress to becoming full-time missionaries with Child Evangelism Fellowship of Hawaii. Firstly, we just want to thank you for your continued prayer and financial support. We have received several commitment cards with a willingness to become part of our prayer team as well as to become financial partners. As mentioned in our previous letter, Child Evangelism Fellowship of Hawaii has requested that we raise a total of $5084 in order to become full-time missionaries; of that amount, we have raised to date, $400 of full-time pledges. As seen from this figure, we still have a long way to go, but we also see that God is providing.  This process continues to test our faith on a daily basis, but more so, it has strengthened our faith and given us a greater desire and love for the one who gave His all for us, the Lord Jesus Christ.  We have also found comfort in James 1:2,

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish   its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.   If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

We know that the Lord is working and preparing us for the ministry ahead and we are doing our best to believe and not doubt, because we know that He is an awesome and mighty God who is able to do more than we can ever think or imagine.
        Secondly, the next training for CEF begins in August 2011 and we would love to attend; however, our training is also dependent on our financial support. We are praying that you would continue to consider becoming a financial partner with us; by doing so, you will also be investing in the great work that the Lord is doing. We are praying that the Lord will provide at least half of our support before August so that we can attend our three month training. Therefore, we need $1600 in full-time pledges in the next few months. So, again will you please prayerfully consider your part in becoming a financial partner with us because it will be a great opportunity for advancing the Gospel message. First Support Letter

Dear Friends and Family,

We are writing to share some exciting news with you regarding an opportunity to share the message of the Gospel. This year, I have been offered a position of Local Director with Child Evangelism Fellowship of Hawaii. Prior to this, the Lord had impressed on my heart, as well as my wife Kristin, the desire for missions. The subject of mission kept being repeated at church, in our devotions and in my classes at Liberty University. I realized that God was speaking to me, so I sought an opportunity to get involved and this is when the ministry opportunity at Child Evangelism Fellowship^® became available.  Child Evangelism Fellowship^® also known as CEF^® is a Bible-centered, worldwide organization that is dedicated to seeing every child reached with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, discipled and established in a local church. As a CEF Local Director, I will be responsible for the oversight and vision casting for the ministry of reaching and teaching children for Christ in Hawaii. I will also help develop resources and Christians necessary to carry out the ministry of CEF.

When you hear of Hawaii, you are probably thinking of  the natural beauty of Hawaii, its warm tropical climate and its inviting waters which make it a beautiful vacation spot that so many of us dream of visiting.  But “Why Hawaii?” you might ask.  “Aren’t they already reached?” It may seem that way but behind Hawaii’s natural beauty, there is spiritual darkness.  Hawaii has a population of approximately 1.2 million people. Of this population, 72% do not belong to Christianity and of the remaining 28%, probably only 2% genuinely profess faith in Christ. Kristin and I would like to be used of the Lord to actively share the Gospel to those in Hawaii who are hungry for truth, for love and for hope.

“How then can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring Good News!’”

The position of Local Director is a missionary position which requires us to raise our financial support and we cannot go without that support. For our departure, we are seeking support, both financially and in prayer. CEF needs us to raise $5,084 per month to make this opportunity possible. Will you step out in faith and partner with us and consider a monthly pledge of $50, $75, $100 or more to make our dream a reality? If you are unable to give, will you consider being a part of our prayer team so that you can earnestly pray for us? You would be sharing in the vision of CEF, Every Child, Every Nation, Every Day. There are so many kids who have not heard the Good News of Christ, and we will have the chance to share the message of His love as we give of our time and resources and gifts with which the Lord has blessed us. What a responsibility this is, but, also, what a privilege!
